This work was created for eLife, a non-profit organisation inspired by research funders and led by scientists.
The artwork created displays the process of distilling extensive complex scientific papers into easily readable understandable summaries for lay audiences. The scientific community relies heavily on technical language to describe complex concepts. However, this makes science inaccessible for lay audiences. Consequently, the challenge is to boil down complex jargon of scientific papers into plain language that most people understand. This distilled form of science communication for general audiences aims to convey science in a simple and clear way so that the majority of readers to learn something about the latest research results reported in journals, regardless of their background.
